On Saturday, July 27, the Yacht Club de Monaco celebrated the graduation of 25 participants from its prestigious Yachting Masterclass programme. These new graduates, after an intensive three-month course, have gained significant expertise in various aspects of the yachting industry. One of the graduates, Niamh Murphy, a yachting sales and charter assistant, expressed her gratitude, noting that the course enabled her to secure her first job in the sector. The programme attracted numerous industry professionals as instructors, including Marcela de Kern Royer, Chris Andreason, and representatives from Monaco Marine and Superyacht Times, among others.
The Yachting Masterclass, open to the public, offers a comprehensive exploration of the superyacht world, covering 25 different themes ranging from technical vocabulary to the intricacies of shipyard operations. Céline Deissard, a Sales Director in the luxury sector, praised the course for its comprehensive coverage and practical approach. Another participant, Reinoud Bicker from Portugal, highlighted how the course broadened his industry knowledge and boosted his confidence as a broker.
Looking ahead, the Yacht Club de Monaco continues to enhance its educational offerings. Starting from summer 2024, La Belle Classe Academy will introduce Yachting Summer Camps for youths aged 16-22, offering courses on navigation, first aid, and meteorology, among others. Additionally, the academy, recently accredited as an RYA (Royal Yachting Association) training center, will offer year-round RYA Level 1 and 2 Powerboat Handling courses. Bernard d’Alessandri, general secretary of the Yacht Club de Monaco, emphasized the club’s commitment to advancing professional skills in the yachting sector, thereby reinforcing Monaco's esteemed position in the global yachting community.
