Her Excellency Valérie Bruell-Melchior, Monaco's Ambassador, recently presented her Letters of Credence to Emmanuel Macron, Co-Prince of Andorra, solidifying her role as Monaco’s Ambassador to the Principality of Andorra, while residing in France. The official ceremony was held at the Élysée Palace and witnessed by key representatives including Patrick Strzoda, Representative of the French Co-Prince, and Imma Tor Faus, Andorra’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
During this prestigious event, Ambassador Bruell-Melchior emphasized her dedication to enhancing the relationship between Monaco and Andorra. This commitment follows the significant step of inaugurating Monaco’s first consulate in Andorra in September 2024, marking a new chapter in diplomatic relations between the two European microstates.
Looking ahead, a subsequent ceremony for Ambassador Bruell-Melchior to present her credentials to Archbishop Joan Enric Vives i Sicília, the Episcopal Co-Prince of Andorra, is expected to be organized soon. This will further formalize the diplomatic channels and continue to strengthen the bonds shared by the two nations.
