Three Minors Detained Following Brazen Larvotto District Burglary in Monaco

Just days after a daring burglary in Monaco's upscale Larvotto district, three young suspects were detained by local law enforcement. The incident, which occurred at the Columbia Palace residence on Avenue Princesse-Grace, involved the theft of valuable jewelry and watches totaling approximately 160,000 euros. The trio, equipped with burglary tools, was apprehended on a bus by Monaco police on Wednesday, August 28, underlining the increased vigilance of public safety forces across the Principality this summer.

In response to a series of break-ins, Monaco's security personnel have enhanced their surveillance efforts and community alerts, involving everyone from building managers to taxi drivers in their watchful endeavors. This proactive approach proved effective when two suspects, initially claimed to be minors but later identified through wrist X-rays as 16 and 17 years old, were caught fitting the descriptions from a security alert.

Charged with home burglary and criminal conspiracy on Thursday, August 29, the suspects are now held in pre-trial detention at the Monaco remand center. As the legal process unfolds, Monegasque authorities continue their investigation to ascertain the full extent of the suspects' involvement and any potential connections to broader criminal networks.
