The blaze, which originated from a gas leak at a villa on 68 Avenue Jean-Jaurès, swiftly spread to an adjacent property, causing severe structural damage but no injuries. In response to the danger, local authorities enforced a strict prohibition on access to the affected properties, and displaced residents were accommodated at a nearby reception facility.
Monaco's fire department was quick to act, sending 22 firefighters and seven vehicles to the scene. They were supported by approximately ten firefighters and two trucks from the French Menton barracks. The combined efforts focused on managing the gas leak while battling the flames to prevent further damage and ensure public safety. The fire was largely contained by 17:00, although road clearing operations continued into the evening.
The incident significantly impacted local traffic, with a security perimeter established that closed roads between the Quatre Chemins roundabout and the entrance to Monaco.
