Stéphane Valeri, President of Société des Bains de Mer (SBM), outlined an expansive vision for the future during his annual speech to Monaco's media from the Salon Excelsior at the Hôtel Hermitage. Reflecting on a successful 2024, Valeri introduced several upcoming projects including the opening of the Marlow restaurant at Mareterra’s Place Princess Gabriella, which promises an Anglo-Saxon club ambiance and all-day dining options. He also announced significant enhancements at the Beach Club and partnerships with international culinary brands to elevate dining experiences at La Vigie and Maona.
The Casino Square’s festive allure over the holiday season drew an impressive crowd, with visitor numbers soaring by 50% on New Year’s Eve. This success was mirrored by SBM’s expansion in the gaming sector, notably with the inauguration of two onboard casinos on Crystal cruise ships. Furthermore, SBM plans to extend its luxury offerings with the second phase of renovations at the Hôtel de Paris, which will feature an exclusive dining room and a virtual exploration of its historic cellars.
On a broader scale, SBM is set to increase its global footprint with the launch of the "Monte-Carlo Club 1863" restaurant in Dubai by the year’s end. Domestically, the focus remains on enhancing Monaco's appeal and safety, with ongoing discussions with the Monaco Financial Security Authority to align casino operations more closely with French regulations and continued support for the "Be Safe" road safety initiative. Valeri’s commitment to growth and innovation within Monaco’s luxury and hospitality sectors reaffirms SBM’s pivotal role in shaping the principality’s future.
