The Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) is extending its prestigious brand with the introduction of Monte-Carlo One – Hotels & Residences, marking a significant stride in its global outreach. Initially introduced as the Monte-Carlo One complex in Monaco’s Place du Casino five years ago, the brand is now evolving to represent the pinnacle of luxury and exclusivity in hospitality on a worldwide scale. The inaugural venture under this new brand will launch in Courchevel 1850, a top-tier alpine resort, with the anticipated opening scheduled for the 2026/2027 winter season, signifying SBM's first step into international hotel operations.
The upcoming Monte-Carlo One property in Courchevel will occupy the esteemed Jardin Alpin area, taking over the site of the historic Palace des Neiges. This project, designed by renowned Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, aims to integrate sophisticated, environmentally-conscious architecture that complements the natural surroundings. It will feature deluxe apartments, a state-of-the-art spa, and lavish ski amenities, with construction commencing in May 2025. Courchevel Mayor Jean-Yves Pachod has endorsed this development, aligning it with the resort's commitment to excellence and enhancing its luxury offerings as it prepares to host the 2030 Winter Olympics.
Reflecting on the expansion, SBM’s Deputy Chairman Stéphane Valeri emphasized that Monte-Carlo One embodies a blend of unparalleled luxury, culinary excellence, and exceptional hospitality. The brand seeks to transplant the quintessential Monte-Carlo experience to iconic destinations worldwide, targeting a sophisticated clientele. Each location under this brand will resonate with local influences while upholding the high standards of quality and luxury that have been a hallmark of SBM’s 160-year legacy. The Monte-Carlo One – Courchevel is set to be a reflection of Monaco's distinguished allure, reinforcing SBM’s vision of setting new standards in the luxury travel sector and continuing the legacy of the Monte-Carlo brand.
