The Fontvieille marquee in Monaco was the venue for the debut of Rokéthon, a significant event focusing on the pressing issue of pet abandonment. The event, held on Saturday, October 5, was attended by HSH Princess Charlène alongside her chihuahua, Kita, enhancing the occasion's appeal. Organized by the Rokéthon association under the guidance of President Sylvia Sermenghi and Vice-President Paula Paduroiu, the event aimed to draw attention to the escalating problem of pet abandonment through a series of engaging activities tailored for pets and their owners.
One of the highlights of Rokéthon was a pet-friendly walk or run, which provided an opportunity for attendees and their pets to participate in a shared activity, fostering a deeper bond. This initiative reflects the event’s commitment to promoting responsible pet ownership and the importance of physical activities for pets’ well-being.
Additionally, the Fontvieille marquee hosted an exhibition of animal-themed art, with local artists including painters, photographers, and sculptors showcasing their works. A portion of the art sales proceeds was donated to the Rokéthon association. The event also featured educational sessions by professionals such as veterinarians, a canine massage expert, a dog psychologist, and a creator of nutritious dog food products, who provided their expertise in exchange for donations, further supporting the cause.
