Prince Pierre Foundation Unveils 102nd Lecture Season in Monaco

The Prince Pierre Foundation of Monaco has announced its program for the 102nd lecture season, promising an enriching exploration of artistic creation and cultural diversity. The season kicks off on January 20 at the Théâtre des Variétés with a discussion between acclaimed screenwriter and director Noémie Lvovsky and film critic Jacques Kermabon, focusing on the complexities of directing and acting. The series will continue with notable figures such as choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and historian Georges Vigarello, delving into how art interacts with cultural environments and the depiction of sport in art, respectively.

Further enriching the cultural calendar, contemporary artist Laure Prouvost will engage in a discussion on March 10 about her climate-focused artworks and intergenerational storytelling. The lecture series will conclude locally on March 31 with a unique writing workshop led by journalist and author Leïla Slimani, exploring the creative process and themes of solitude and introspection. These sessions underline Monaco's vibrant commitment to cultural discourse, intersecting global insights with local heritage.

The Foundation also extends its intellectual reach beyond local borders with two special events: a discussion by writer Javier Santiso at the Arvo Pärt Centre in Estonia on the spiritual dimensions in French poetry, and a masterclass in Paris by philosopher Jacques Rancière, the 2023 recipient of the Principality Prize. These international events, alongside the local lectures, underscore the principality’s global cultural footprint. Attendance is complimentary, though reservations are advised and can be made through the Foundation's website or by contacting their office directly.
