HSH Prince Albert of Monaco recently extended his official engagements in France, following the Principality’s 20th anniversary as a member of the Council of Europe. His tour included a visit to the National Automobile Museum in Mulhouse, where he explored the ‘From Monaco to Mulhouse’ exhibition, showcasing select cars from his personal collection. This exhibition, which exemplifies the Grimaldi family's long-standing affinity with automobiles, features more than 500 vintage vehicles and will be open until November 3.
In addition to his visit in Mulhouse, Prince Albert traveled to Belfort, where he visited significant landmarks such as the town hall and the citadel, and toured the Alstom factory. A key highlight was his exploration of the BelHYnov hydrogen production unit, which underscores both cities' commitment to decarbonization—a principle strongly supported by Monaco’s sustainability objectives.
During his time in Belfort, Prince Albert also commemorated the town’s connection to the Grimaldi family by unveiling the ‘Grimaldi Historic Sites of Monaco’ sign, symbolizing Belfort’s membership in the association. This gesture reflects the historical ties dating back to 1777 when Honoré IV married Louise Félicité Victoire d’Aumont of Belfort. This visit precedes his participation in the 19th Francophonie Summit in Villers-Cotterêts, marking a fruitful continuation of diplomatic and cultural engagements by Monaco's sovereign.
