Students from the universities of Nice Côte d’Azur and Aix-Marseille have a new academic opportunity, following the launch of an inter-university diploma in Monegasque law this September. The innovative program, designed to cater to both young Monegasques and individuals aiming to work within the principality, encompasses 120 hours of instruction over three years. The curriculum delves into various legal fields including civil law, constitutional law, and the unique aspects of Monegasque law, thereby providing a comprehensive understanding of Monaco's distinct legal framework.
This educational initiative was formalized through an agreement signed at Monaco’s Palais de Justice, with the availability of registration now open for interested candidates. The course structure is accessible to first-year university students and includes detailed studies on political and judicial institutions, the law of obligations, and specific private law procedures prevalent in Monaco. Classes will be conveniently held across Nice, Aix, or Monaco, with the added flexibility of videoconferencing options.
With the inaugural class set to accommodate 50 students split between Nice and Aix-en-Provence, applications are being accepted until September 15. The tuition fees are established at 250 euros annually for local students and 375 euros for those from other European universities. Looking ahead, the program anticipates future expansions, including the possibility of offering courses in additional languages, thereby broadening its reach and accessibility to a more diverse student body.
