The Monegasque Rugby Federation, in collaboration with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, recently held a jersey design contest for the Impis U16 team at Collège Charles III, engaging over 80 students across grades six to nine. This creative initiative, supported by prominent local figures including Princess Charlene, Jean-Philippe Vinci, Monaco’s Director of National Education, and Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Princess Charlene Foundation, aimed to foster artistic talent and community spirit among the youth.
The competition culminated in a special event attended by federation and foundation leaders, where the winning design was unveiled. The victorious student received a jersey signed by the Impis U16 players, a token that will be donned by the team at the upcoming Dubai 7s tournament. This event not only highlighted the artistic abilities of Monaco’s students but also celebrated their contribution to the principality’s sports culture.
Looking ahead, the Impis U16 team, composed of promising athletes from the Rugby Exchange program between the Federation and the Foundation, is set to represent Monaco at the prestigious Dubai 7s tournament later this year. This opportunity will showcase the talents and sportsmanship of Monaco’s youth on an international stage, further elevating the principality's profile in global sports.
