As the Paris 2024 Olympic Games commenced on July 26, the Directorate of Platforms and Digital Resources (DPRN), under Monaco’s Interministerial Delegation for Digital Transition, has taken a pivotal role in managing the radio frequency spectrum at all Olympic venues in France. This operation, in partnership with the National Frequency Agency, involves intense coordination to support the influx of communication needs from organizers, security, and media.
Frédéric Rué and Hubert Phan, representatives from DPRN, have been strategically placed at the ‘Test & Tagging’ office in Allianz Riviera, Nice. Their mission is to ensure that all radio equipment functions seamlessly, a task critical for maintaining communication efficacy during such a globally watched event. The DPRN leverages its substantial experience garnered from overseeing similar frequency management tasks during major events hosted in Monaco, including the Grand Prix and the Monaco Yacht Show.
The DPRN not only ensures operational excellence during large-scale events but also coordinates year-round frequency management for various third-party entities. This includes partnerships with both public and private sectors encompassing Monegasque flagged vessels, aircraft, and land-based communication networks. Through these efforts, the DPRN guarantees that communication systems operate without interference, thus upholding the integrity and efficiency of the radio frequency spectrum essential for the success of the world’s premier sporting event.
