Monaco's Namebay Struggles with Service Restoration After Cyberattack

Namebay, a Monaco-based domain registration and web hosting service, continues to face significant challenges following a ransomware cyberattack on September 21. Despite efforts by its technical teams who have been working "tirelessly," users still experienced disruptions as of Friday, October 4. The ICANN-accredited registrar has been grappling with the attack's aftermath for nearly two weeks, striving to fully restore all its services.

In response to the cyber incident, Namebay has taken steps to reassure its customers, asserting that there has been no data leakage. The company remains operational with certain services available despite the setbacks. These services include DNS, domain renewals, and RDAP protocols, which are crucial for the ongoing management of domain names.

Customers needing to register new domains or modify zone records are encouraged to contact the customer service team. Namebay is committed to resolving the issues and restoring full functionality as swiftly as possible, maintaining communication with its clients throughout the recovery process.
