Monaco celebrated the 75th anniversary of its accession to UNESCO with a distinguished reception hosted by H.E. Anne-Marie Boisbouvier, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, this past Wednesday. The event, held at the ambassador's residence, capped a year of commemorative activities and featured the unveiling of a special book developed in collaboration with UNESCO. This publication, which highlights Monaco's enduring partnership with the organization, was earlier presented to HSH Prince Albert II and is published by Éditions de La Martinière.
The reception provided guests the opportunity to engage with the book’s contributors, including Jean-Philippe Vinci, Director of National Education, Youth, and Sports, and historian Stéphane Lamotte. The book, under the patronage of HRH Princess of Hanover and enhanced by educational comics from artist Damien Mac Donald, offers rich historical insights into the Principality's contributions to culture, education, and science.
The evening also showcased an immersive video presentation from the "New Perspectives" metaverse exhibit, organized by the Monaco National Committee for Visual Arts. The exhibition, which is open until December 20, 2024, at the Quai Antoine I Exhibition Hall, celebrates Monaco's cultural, educational, and scientific contributions on a global scale. Over 70 prominent guests, including various ambassadors and UNESCO representatives, attended the event, reflecting Monaco's significant international engagement.
