Monaco has inaugurated the 24th edition of the Assises de la Sécurité, a premier cybersecurity forum, attracting over 3,300 participants worldwide. The event commenced with Monaco's Minister of State, Didier Guillaume, underlining the critical need for global cooperation to tackle the surge in cyberattacks. This year's forum features 180 partners, including 21 startups and numerous top-tier global security companies, highlighting widespread concern over cybersecurity threats.
During the event, Minister Guillaume outlined Monaco's proactive measures against cyber threats, mentioning the principality's commitment to the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime and its support for a new UN cybercrime convention set for approval in August 2024. Since passing key cybersecurity legislation in 2016, Monaco has continually strengthened its defenses, aligning its practices with French and European standards to safeguard critical infrastructure and sensitive data.
The forum also spotlighted the "Fonds bleu" initiative, which Monaco launched in 2020 to support digital transformation amid economic challenges. This initiative is entering a second phase, concentrating on enhancing digital transitions, fostering innovation, and improving data security, particularly in health data under the "Monaco Health Security Plan." Minister Guillaume concluded his address by emphasizing the importance of collective action and collaboration to ensure a secure digital future.
