In response to the burgeoning demand for parcel deliveries and the associated traffic congestion, Monaco has officially opened the Goods Reception Point (PAM) on Boulevard du Jardin Exotique. This new logistics center, covering 1,500 square meters, is set to enhance the efficiency of parcel storage and distribution throughout the Principality. The facility is strategically placed at the city’s entrance to centralize parcel handling, which is particularly crucial given the daily processing of up to 5,700 parcels, servicing 30 delivery routes and 4,200 delivery points.
The PAM, supported by La Poste Monaco and the Prince’s Government, is equipped to manage a daily volume of up to 2,500 parcels, with potential for increased capacity through extended operating hours. The hub also boasts a fleet of 14 electric delivery vehicles, aligning with Monaco’s environmental goals by promoting sustainable transportation methods within the city. Additionally, the facility offers enhanced service features such as a 24/7 locker system for round-the-clock parcel collection and a customer service desk available six days a week for both drop-offs and collections.
This initiative is a part of a broader strategy to improve urban logistics within Monaco, which will be further supported by the forthcoming La Poste Monaco Sorting Center in the Ilot Pasteur project. By consolidating delivery operations and reducing the number of utility vehicles in the city, the PAM significantly contributes to alleviating traffic congestion and minimizing environmental impact, marking a substantial advancement in Monaco's commitment to sustainable urban development.
