Monaco Government Advises Caution as Severe Weather Threatens with Heavy Rainfall

The Monegasque government has issued a warning to both residents and visitors as the Alpes-Maritimes department, including Monaco, is placed under an orange alert for heavy rain and potential flooding. The alert, taking effect from 22:00 on Friday, anticipates significant rainfall late Friday night through Saturday morning, with projections of 60-70 mm at its peak.

Authorities are advising the public to exercise extreme caution, recommending avoidance of unnecessary travel within the city and its surrounding areas during the storm. The emphasis is on vigilance to ensure the safety of all during this period of adverse weather conditions.

While a brief respite in the weather may occur around midday Saturday, the rain is expected to continue with the possibility of the storm intensifying again from Saturday night into Sunday. The orange alert remains active through Sunday, October 27, underscoring the need for ongoing caution throughout the weekend.
