Monaco and Burundi Sign Historic Cooperation Framework Agreement

During the 19th Francophonie Summit, Monaco's Minister of External Relations and Cooperation, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, alongside her counterpart from Burundi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, Albert Shingiro, formalized a Cooperation Framework Agreement. This significant accord, signed on October 5, underscores the commitment of both nations to bolster their longstanding partnership, highlighting mutual interests in sectors such as health, education, child protection, food security, and decent work access.

This agreement encapsulates Monaco's dedication to aligning with Burundi's national development strategies, reinforcing a collaborative relationship that has seen Monaco actively engage in various development initiatives within Burundi. These efforts are part of a broader endeavor to ameliorate living conditions and promote sustainable development in the African nation.

Furthering this collaborative spirit, Minister Berro-Amadeï is slated to visit Burundi at the month's end. Her visit aims to engage in deeper discussions with local officials, cooperation partners, and beneficiaries, ensuring the continuous and effective implementation of the developmental programs under the newly signed agreement.
