Monaco Adopts New Ministerial Decree to Manage Workplace First Aid

The Princely Government of Monaco has enacted a new Ministerial Decree to streamline emergency first aid responses for workplace incidents, aligning with the Sovereign Ordinance on Occupational Health. This crucial framework is designed to provide immediate and effective aid to employees suffering from accidents or medical emergencies at work, ensuring their safety and well-being.

According to the decree, it is imperative that trained staff promptly administer first aid to mitigate further risks and stabilize the affected individuals until the arrival of professional emergency services. This initiative not only enhances employee safety but also reinforces the principality's commitment to maintaining high standards of workplace health practices.

The introduction of this decree has been positively received by key stakeholders, including the Federation of Monegasque Enterprises (FEDEM) and the Building Employers’ Chamber, recognizing its potential to formalize practices already prevalent within many businesses. Additionally, the decree mandates specific first aid training for employees, which varies depending on the business type and size, ensuring tailored and efficient response capabilities. For further guidance, companies may contact the Labour Inspectorate at +377 98 98 87 26 or visit their office at 17 Rue Princesse Florestine.
