By a Sovereign Ordinance issued on August 30, Isabelle Costa has been appointed as the new Secretary General of Monaco City Hall. Costa, a distinguished graduate of the École Nationale d'Administration (ENA), transitions into this key role after serving as the High Commissioner for European Affairs to the Minister of State since February 1, 2023. Her prior experience includes notable positions within the Prince’s Cabinet and a significant stint from 2016 to 2021 as Deputy Secretary General of the Government, where she managed the Europe Unit.
She steps into the position succeeding Romain Druenne, who has been at the helm of the Town Hall since March 2022. Druenne is transitioning to undertake new duties within the Prince’s Government. The Mayor of Monaco, along with other city officials, acknowledged Druenne's substantial contributions and expressed their appreciation for his dedication and service in various capacities including Finance Officer, Deputy Secretary General, and ultimately Secretary General.
Isabelle Costa is set to officially begin her responsibilities as Secretary General on Monday, September 9, bringing her extensive government and European affairs expertise to the forefront of Monaco’s municipal administration.
