In a surprising twist to its much-anticipated debut, Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin Valkyrie was towed away shortly after its arrival in Monaco, rather than cruising the famed streets of the Principality. The custom-built hypercar, which was delivered to the two-time F1 world champion on Wednesday, encountered an unforeseen hiccup that prevented it from showcasing its capabilities through Monaco's scenic routes.
The Valkyrie, a product of Aston Martin's Q customisation service, is designed to impress with its satin green finish and striking yellow accents that echo Alonso's racing colors. The vehicle features extensive carbon fibre detailing, from the roof to the underbody, and personalized elements such as Alonso’s name on the headrests of the carbon bucket seats. It also boasts red anodised aluminium pedals and is adorned with the number 14, representing Alonso's lucky number.
Despite the setback, Alonso remained optimistic about the hypercar's future adventures. "I’ve been looking forward to this day for so long," he said prior to the mishap. The incident, while disappointing, adds an unexpected chapter to the Valkyrie’s story in Monaco, leaving fans and onlookers hopeful for a rebound that matches the car's bold and innovative design.
