AS Monaco is set to enhance its team by signing another rising star, 19-year-old striker Paris Brunner from Borussia Dortmund, building on the recent acquisition of promising 17-year-old George Ilenikhena. Ilenikhena has already turned heads with two goals during the pre-season, signaling a bright future. The club, continuing its strategy to invest in youthful talent, is reportedly in advanced talks with Brunner, whose current contract with Dortmund will expire next year.
Brunner may be loaned out to Cercle Bruges to gather more playing experience if negotiations between Monaco and Dortmund conclude successfully, according to Bild Sport. This move aligns with Monaco's approach of developing young players through practical match exposure, enhancing their skills on international platforms.
The young German striker, eager for a change, is reportedly looking forward to leaving Dortmund where he finds himself out of favor with the club’s new coach, Nuri Sahin. Despite training with the first team, Dortmund’s management seems to have limited his involvement, suggesting he might have to settle playing with the U23 or U19 squads—a situation less appealing to Brunner. A seasoned player at the youth international level, Brunner has already made significant achievements including clinching the U17 World Cup and the Euro in 2023, where he played against France.
